Are You a Warrior or a Voyeur?

As I was enjoying praise and worship during a Sunday morning service, The Lord asked me a haunting question, “Are you a warrior or a voyeur?” In the time that has passed since that Sunday morning, I have often thought about that question.

A warrior is someone trained in and experienced in warfare, while a voyeur is someone who receives enjoyment from watching the actions and suffering of others.

A warrior runs toward the battle with the expectation that they will make a difference, while a voyeur is content to sit at a comfortable distance and watch the conflict.

A warrior sees someone in need and responds while a voyeur talks about the need for someone else to change the situation.

A warrior is willing to make the ultimate sacrifice, to lay down their lives for the sake of others, while a voyeur sits in their easy chair, watches others suffer on TV news and does nothing.
